Previewing a caddie

Before committing to a caddie for a round, you can hear their voice and style.

  1. Open the Caddies tab.
  2. Tap any caddie card to open the detail view.
  3. Tap Preview — the caddie delivers a sample hole briefing so you can hear the voice and tone.
  4. Tap Select to make that caddie your default, or continue browsing.

Selecting a caddie before a round

  1. Open the Caddies tab and tap the caddie you want.
  2. Tap Select as Caddie.
  3. Start your round — the selected caddie is active for the full 18.

Your last-used caddie is remembered between rounds. You do not need to re-select every time.

Switching caddies mid-round

You can swap caddies during a round without losing any data.

  1. During a round, tap the caddie portrait in the top bar.
  2. Select a new caddie from the list.
  3. The new caddie picks up immediately on the current hole — they acknowledge the switch and give you the hole briefing.

Shot history, scores, and yardages are unaffected by caddie changes.

tip

Switching to a data-focused caddie like The Analyst on the back nine is a good move if you want a tighter read on what the round's numbers are saying.

How caddies differ

Beyond voice, each caddie has a distinct advice model:

  • Verbosity — some caddies (The Veteran, The Pro) are terse. Others (The Coach, Joe Rogan) go long.
  • Risk tolerance — The Governor plays you away from trouble. The Hustler plays you at the flag.
  • Feedback style — some caddies are blunt about a bad club choice; others redirect without dwelling on it.
  • Club language — celebrity caddies translate club recommendations into plain language ("the one that goes 160 yards"). Golf archetype caddies use standard nomenclature.

The caddie's underlying GPS data, yardages, and AI recommendations are identical across all personalities. The differences are in how that information is delivered.

Availability

All 44 caddies are included on both the Birdie ($9.99/mo) and Eagle ($19.99/mo) plans. No caddies are locked behind the higher tier.
